Phlebotomy Technician

Description:
Students of this program receive 169 hours of instruction where they learn about safe and efficient work practices in obtaining adequate and correct blood specimens, labeling specimens, transporting specimens correctly to the appropriate laboratory sections, quality and safety assurance; infection control guidelines and precautions; blood borne diseases, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and other diseases; legal and ethical responsibilities; anatomic structure and function of body systems in relation to the profession; communications skills and basic math calculations. Students receive 45 hours of lab practice to ensure each graduate is ready for a successful employment.

Upon successful completion of this program, the School will assist each graduate with job placement; however, the School does not guarantee employment.
